The White Swan Inn & Apartment
Situated in the centre of the town, The White Swan Inn, is the oldest remaining pub in Kelso. A homely pub where you will always be made to feel extremely welcome. As well as the many locals who regularly frequent the pub, many fishers and shooters will be seen enjoying the real ale by the warmth of the real log fire.
Kelso is a picturesque cobbled town set in the heart of the Scottish Borders. This historic town boasts one of the finest examples of 12th century Romanesque architecture with its splendid Abbey. On the outskirts of the town, visible from Rennie Bridge - a bridge modeled from London's Waterloo Bridge, erected in 1975 - stands the largest inhabited house in Scotland - Floors Castle, home to the Duke & Duchess of Roxburgh. The Tourist Information centre is housed in an elegant 19th century town house right in the centre
of the French styled cobbled town square.
Amongst the many major events held within the town are the Scottish Championship Dog Show, Border Union Show, British Motorcycle Federation Show and the Kelso Civic Week - all of which pull in many tourists, many of whom return year upon year.
Situated on the banks of the River Tweed, one of the most popular rivers for salmon fishing, Kelso is ideally located for fishers, whilst the forests and surrounding moors offer a good range of shooting. We are also proud to be home to one of the oldest and friendliest race courses in the UK, as well as having an 18th hole golf course, an ice rink and a swimming pool.
